TEST DATA

PERMEABILITY

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) CRD-C 48-92
"Standard Test Method for Water Permeability of Concrete"
by Applied Testing, Inc.

3,000 psi (20.7 MPa) AQUAFIN-IC treated and untreated concrete samples were pressure tested up to 468 ft. (138 m) water head (200 psi / 13.8 bar) over 20 days test period as follows:
Test #1:
Result:

Untreated control - Positive (water) side
Leakage (permeability) through untreated sample was measured.
Test #1:

Result:

Positive side (through coating towards concrete)
1 coat AQUAFIN-IC application at 2.0 lb/yd2 (1.0 kg/m2)
No leakage was observed during the last five days of the test period.

Test #2:

Result:

Negative side (through concrete towards coating)
1 coat AQUAFIN-IC application at 2.0 lb/yd2 (1.0 kg/m2)
No leakage at all was observed during the 26 day test period.

Test #3:

Result:

Re-test of Test #2 after removal of AQUAFIN-IC coating
Negative side (through concrete towards surface that had been coated with AQUAFIN-IC)
No leakage at all was observed during the 21 day test period.

COMPARISON TESTING WITH OTHER PRODUCTS

"Report of Comparison Testing of AQUAFIN-IC, VANDEX SUPER and XYPEX CONCENTRATE"
LAW Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc., Atlanta, GA

The scope of work involved making and curing concrete specimens, applying the products to concrete specimens and testing them in accordance with:

bulletASTM C944: Test Method for Abrasion Resistance of Concrete or Mortar Surfaces by the Rotating-Cutter Method
bulletASTM C666: Test Method for Resistance of Concrete to Rapid Freezing and Thawing
bulletASTM C642: Test Method for Specific Gravity, Absorption, and Voids in Hardened Concrete.
Conclusion:  The products tested behaved similarly.

POTABLE WATER EXPOSURE

NSF / ANSI  Standard 61 "Drinking Water System Components - Health Effects"
NSF International Ann Arbor, MI  http://www.nsf.org
Exposure testing of potable water when exposed to AQUAFIN-IC treated samples indicated no harmful effects.
