Technical Services Engineer

AQUAFIN is a rapidly growing manufacturer of waterproofing, vapor proofing and concrete repair products. Our reputation within the industry for excellent customer service stems from a corporate focus of selling solutions – not products. We are looking for a Technical Services Engineer to support sales growth by providing product technical support to our customer base and sales team. The main focus of the position is to provide phone and email support from our Elkton, MD office, as well as field support to jobsites for conducting field investigations, customer trainings and attending industry conferences such as ICRI and ACI.

- Analyze and understand construction drawings and provide accurate product recommendations.
- Answer technical questions pertaining to AQUAFIN products via phone and email (verbal and written reports) and relay detailed call information with the sales team to complete the communication loop.
- Provide in-house and external technical customer support by conducting field troubleshooting investigations. Based on forensic evidence and professional opinion, determine cause and effect relationships and provide solutions and guidance for corrective measures (verbal and written reports).
- Work with the Technical Director and the Sales & Marketing Team to deliver unparalleled technical product support and assist with sales activities in a technical nature.
- Perform investigations of material or warranty complaints.
- Prepare and present technical presentations to contractors, architects, engineers and building owners.
- Work directly with R&D Department for product development testing.

Your Skills:
- Demonstrated ability and technical aptitude to learn AQUAFIN products and markets served.
- Strong practical knowledge of cementitious and epoxy materials.
- Strong fundamental and practical knowledge of concrete, materials testing, and construction design.
- Ability to communicate effectively by phone, letter, email, etc.
- Ability to work well independently as well as with a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to own the problem from beginning to end, even if it means doing things beyond your actual job description.
- Ability to critically assess and advise engineers and other technical personnel in a cooperative, coaching manner.
- Ability to work in a team environment with Tech & Customer Services, Sales, Marketing, Quality Control, R&D and Manufacturing.

Requirements: Applicant must be a self-starter and have the ability to work alone with minimal supervision. Candidate must have good interpersonal communication skills. Applicants must be authorized to drive and work in the United States and travel internationally.

Education: BS in Civil or Structural Engineering with minimum 1-2 year experience in a similar position. Relevant industry experience will be considered in lieu of educational background.
