Its unique chemistry makes it naturally resistant to many common chemicals. AQUAFIN-UC1400 is ideal for industrial applications where an extremely tough and durable floor is required. It can also be used as a high performance underlayment for resilient flooring installations. Typical Applications: AQUAFIN-UC1400 can be used for a wide range of interior and exterior floor applications including: • Commercial kitchens, bakeries, wineries, and breweries • Dairies, meat processing facilities, food production plants • Pharmaceutical and vitamin production plants • Laboratories, scientific testing and research facilities • Light industrial factories, warehouses and storage facilities • Cage wash areas at zoos and animal care facilities • Restrooms at public parks, campgrounds, and highway rest stops • Mechanical rooms Advantages: • Forms an aggressive bond with no primer required • Excellent resistance to abrasion and impact • Water-based formula contains 20% plant-based ingredients • Moisture tolerant formula can be applied over green concrete (at least 7 days old) • Creates a seamless, monolithic floor that can be sanitized • Naturally resistant to microbial growth • Can be applied in areas that are not climate-controlled (service temperature range is -50ºF to 200ºF) • Meets USDA, FDA, and CFIA Standards • Meets California VOC and SCAQMD Requirements Substrate Preparation: • All concrete substrates must be strong, solid, and stable. • All concrete surfaces must be dry, clean and free from loose sand, dirt, dust, laitance, efflorescence, form release agents, curing compounds, sealers, paint, adhesives, existing coatings, oil, grease and other foreign substances that could interfere with adhesion. • Concrete must be at least 7 days old, and must have reached a minimum 2,500 psi (17 MPa) compressive strength. • Repair R epair all spalled areas of concrete and fill in all voids and low spots using a suitable concrete repair product such as MORTAR-40 CI, Check our website for the latest version of the Technical Datasheet. www.aquafin.net

All data are average values obtained under laboratory conditions. In practical use temperature, humidity and absorbance of the substrate may influence the above given values. Dynamic coefficient of friction values will vary depending on final surface texture achieved at the jobsite.
MORTAR-Crete CI, MORTAR-Screed CI, MORTAR-QuickPatch, Pavemend DOTLine or Pavemend SL. Fill in all minor cracks and joints up to 1/8” wide using MORTAR-QuickPatch. Refer to the current Technical Data Sheet of the corresponding above named product(s) for surface preparation, mixing instructions, installation instructions, cure times, etc. • Mechanically prepare new and existing concrete surfaces (including any areas that received repairs) to a concrete surface profile (CSP) of 3 per the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) Guideline No. 3102R-2013. Standard acid etching is NOT allowed. The concrete must be dry before application of AQUAFIN-UC1400. Remediate Oil and Grease: • If the concrete slab has the appearance of oil or grease contamination, Aquafin recommends the application of a topical epoxy oil barrier coating prior to the application of AQUAFIN-UC1400. • For more information about Aquafin’s VAPORTIGHT COAT®-SG2 visit: www.vaportightcoat.com or contact your local Aquafin Representative. Moisture Limits and Concrete Moisture Testing: • AQUAFIN-UC1400 can be applied over concrete slabs with MVER readings as high as 25 lbs and RH readings as high as 99.9%. Note: There must be a fully intact and functioning vapor barrier underneath the concrete slab. When in doubt, contact your local Aquafin Representative for information about Aquafin VAPORTIGHT COAT®-SG products or visit: www.vaportightcoat.com . • Aquafin recommends moisture testing of all concrete slabs prior to application of AQUAFIN-UC1400. However, moisture testing is only a guideline and can be influenced by environmental factors. • Interior Concrete Slabs: Aquafin recommends testing to determine moisture vapor emission rate (MVER) including “Anhydrous Calcium Chloride” testing as per ASTM F 1869 on slabs to be treated, to determine the MVER in lb/1000 ft2•24 hrs (grams/m2•hr) and to determine RH content (%) as per ASTM F 2170. • Exterior Concrete Slabs: To obtain an approximate measurement of the moisture in exterior concrete slabs, Aquafin recommends using a combination of in-situ RH content (%) testing and surface MC (%) testing and then comparing the results. Jobsite Conditions: • Air and substrate temperatures must be between 50°F to 80°F (10°C to 27°C). • Temperatures must be maintained within this range for at least 24 hours after the installation. • Dew Point must be 6°F (3°F) or more below the surface temperature. • Do not apply if humidity is at or above 80%. • Address all cracks and joints prior to the application of AQUAFINUC1400. Refer to Joint and Crack Treatment section below. • Once mixed, AQUAFIN-UC1400 has a very short working time. For this reason, it is recommended to divide the total application area into smaller sections so that one kit of AQUAFIN-UC1400 can be quickly applied, smoothed, and finished in a single section within 10 to 15 minutes. • Maintain strict control of work area and avoid dripping solvents, cleaners, or any other substance into AQUAFIN-UC1400 during application. Joint and Crack Treatment: • Crack and Control Joints: Pre-treat all cracks and control (saw cut joints) with PRO-Tekt Joint Sealant. Refer to the current PRO-Tekt Joint Sealer Technical Data Sheet for all application instructions, including surface preparation, etc. • Expansion Joints: Treat expansion joints according to project specifications. Expansion joints must be honored. After application of AQUAFIN-UC1400, expansion joints can be re-cut and filled with PROTekt Joint Sealant or an elastomeric joint sealant.

Mixing: •C ondition material to 70°F to 80°F (21°C to 27°C) prior to mixing and application. • Do not use broken, damaged, or wet bags of Part C (aggregate). •U se chemical resistant (Nitrile) gloves and goggles when mixing or applying AQUAFIN-UC1400. •A QUAFIN-UC1400 is supplied in a pre-measured kit. Always mix complete units, include all components, use the full amount of each component supplied, and do not alter the mixing ratios. • Do not open containers or mix AQUAFIN-UC1400 until ready for immediate use. 1. Pour Part A (resin) into a 5-gallon pail. Ensure that the entire content of Part A (resin) is completely drained into the pail. 2. Add Part B (hardener) into the pail with Part A (resin). 3. Mix Part A (resin) and Part B (hardener) together using a high speed drill (800 RPM) with a 5” Jiffy type-blade. Mix for at least 30 seconds. 4. Gradually add Part C (aggregate) and mix continuously for at least 2 minutes until a homogeneous mix is attained. During mixing, move the blade around the pail in a continuous motion to ensure all ingredients are evenly dispersed and the mixture is uniform. Once mixed, apply AQUAFIN-UC1400 immediately! Application: Tools Needed: An adequate supply of clean and new pin rakes or gauge rakes, and spike rollers. 1. Apply AQUAFIN-UC1400 to the sectioned-off area at a rate of 30 ft2 to 35 ft2 per kit using a ¼” pin rake or a gauge rake, and a spike roller. 2. Change out rakes and rollers with new ones when necessary to avoid a buildup of old material on tools. 3. Ensure that AQUAFIN-UC1400 is being applied at the proper thickness and is conforming to the required slope (when applicable). 4. Work quickly to complete edge details, and smooth out lines and imperfections within the 10 to 15 minute working time [based on 75°F (24°C) and 50% relative humidity]. 5. Continue the process ensuring a continuous flow of material to minimize lines and streaks between application areas. 6. (optional sand broadcast): Immediately (within 2 minutes) after application, broadcast Aquafin Coated Quartz Sand at a rate of 10-20 lbs/100 ft2 (0.49 - 0.98 kg/m²) or as required to achieve a slipresistant finish. The aggregate should be applied vertically, allowing it to fall onto the AQUAFIN-UC1400. Allow to cure. Remove excess sand. 7. (optional topcoat): For an extra layer of protection to increase the longevity of the coating, or to lock in the optional sand broadcast, apply Aquafin’s EPOXY-N161 (Novolac) over AQUAFIN-UC1400. Curing and Protection: • Protect the area from all traffic and work by other trades until cured. • For light pedestrian traffic, allow to cure for at least 8 hours [based on 75°F (24°C) and 50% relative humidity]. If temperatures are below 75°F (24°C), allow to cure for at least 24 hours before permitting light pedestrian traffic on the finished surface. • For heavy pedestrian traffic, forklift traffic, and heavy equipment, allow to cure for at least 72 hours [based on 75°F (24°C) and 50% relative humidity]. • High temperatures and low humidity will accelerate the cure time. Low temperatures and high humidity will extend the cure time. Clean-up: Clean tools and equipment with acetone or similar product immediately after use. Cured material must be removed mechanically. Soaking tools in an epoxy-stripper will help when mechanical removal is necessary.

AQUAFIN-UC1400 Maintenance •A good maintenance program will help extend the life of any installed coating and ensure that it is safe for its intended purposes. Aquafin recommends daily cleaning and inspection of the coating with spot repairs as needed. Limitations: • AQUAFIN-UC1400 is designed to be applied over Portland cementbased concrete. For applications over other substrates, contact Aquafin Technical Department or your local Aquafin Sales Representative. • Do not apply to un-reinforced sand cement screeds, asphalt or bitumen substrates, glazed tile or nonporous brick and tile, magnesite, copper, aluminum, polyesters or elastomeric membranes. •D o not thin or dilute. • The physical properties of AQUAFIN-UC1400 are UV stable. However, discoloration and yellowing will occur in direct sunlight. • The physical properties of AQUAFIN-UC1400 are unaffected by many common chemicals. However, staining and bleaching may occur with certain chemicals. • For aggregate extensions, contact Aquafin Technical Department or your local Aquafin Sales Representative. •C ontact Aquafin Technical Department or your local Aquafin Representative for guidance in conditions outside the stated temperature limits. • Color may vary due to batch to batch variations. Always use the same batch number. Coverage: One kit covers approx. 30 ft2 to 35 ft2. Note: Proper application is the sole responsibility of the user. Applicators are expected to follow ICRI and ACI guidelines as well as other applicable industry standards. Aquafin personnel or representatives are not site inspectors or construction project managers and therefore do not approve surface preparation, mixing, or application of Aquafin products. Site visits by Aquafin personnel or representatives are solely for the purpose of making technical recommendations, not for providing supervision or quality control. Packaging: AQUAFIN-UC1400 is available in a pre-measured kit containing: • Comp A: 8 lbs • Comp B: 8lbs • Comp C: 39 lbs NOTE: Aquafin Coated Quartz Sand for optional broadcast applications is sold separately and is not included in kits.
Storage and Shelf Life: Storage: Store material at temperatures between 50ºF - 90ºF, on wooden pallets to prevent contact with the floor. Keep containers closed, store in a dry, cool place away from heat, direct sun, sparks, open flame, and moisture. Protect Part A (resin) and Part B (hardener) from freezing. Shelf Life: • Part A (resin): 12 months in unopened, original packaging within stated storage temperatures. • Part B (hardener) 12 months in unopened, original packaging within stated storage temperatures. • Part C (aggregate) 6 months shelf life in unopened, original packaging within stated storage temperatures. General Information: All details in particular to the suggestions for the processing and use of the product is based on our present knowledge and experiences at the time of printing. Depending on specific applications, in particular regarding substrates, processing and environmental conditions may affect final results. Safety: Refer to SDS. For commercial use only. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear rubber gloves and safety goggles during mixing and application. After contact with skin, wash with plenty of water. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes and seek medical advice. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. LIMITED WARRANTY: AQUAFIN, INC. warrants this product for a period of one year from the date of installation to be manufactured free of defects and to be consistent with its technical properties as stated in our current Technical Data Sheet. This product must be used as directed and within its stated shelf life. AQUAFIN INC. will replace or at our discretion refund the purchase price of any product, excluding cost of labor, which is proven to be defective. Our product recommendations are based on industry standards and testing procedures. It is the buyer’s obligation to test the suitability of the product for an intended use prior to using it. We assume no warranties written, expressed or implied as to any specific methods of application or use of the product. We do not guarantee compatibility of Aquafin products with other brands.
