Physical Properties
Product Description: Waterstop-GunGrade is a single component hydrophilic waterstop, designed for sealing smooth to very irregular construction joints and pipe penetrations. It cures and swells in the presence of moisture or water. Curing time depends on temperature and humidity, for example cure time decreases when temperature and RH are higher. Waterstop-GunGrade cures 24-36 hours. Waterstop-GunGrade is available in cartridges and sausages.

Typical Applications: Any concrete structure with larger volume water leaks such as: • Sealing rough and smooth construction joints of cast in-place or precast concrete in wet and underwater applications. • Sealing joints in pre-cast segments in wet or underwater applications such as manholes, box culverts, cable ducts and pipes. • Sealing joints between sheet piles. Advantages: • Excellent adhesion to concrete, PVC, HDPE, steel, & fiberglass • Can be applied to wet surfaces or underwater when concrete is poured within 2 hours • Adapts to irregular surfaces • Expands to more than 200% of original cured volume • Easy application with standard caulking guns • Solvent free Substrate Preparation: Concrete substrate must be dust-free and no lose debris. The surface can be rough or smooth, damp or dry. Installation Procedures: • 10 oz. Cartridges: Use a heavy duty single cartridge gun. Screw on the nozzle and cut diagonally at the appropriate position • 20oz. Sausages: Put the sausage in the empty tube of the bulk caulking gun and cut 1/8 inch off the top of the sausage. Close the tube and install the nozzle. Nozzles are supplied with the appropriate opening. • Waterstop-GunGrade must be applied in an uninterrupted band (minimum 3/8” bead), gunned in the middle of the joint or precast element. • Concrete cover must be minumum 3” inches on all sides, in order to avoid cracks from the pressure of material swelling. • If installing Waterstop-GunGrade under water or during heavy rain, concrete placement must begin within 2 hours of application to provide confinement for the material and prevent potential premature swelling, which can lower effectiveness of the material.

Storage & Shelf Life: 12 months when stored properly. Product is highly moisture sensitive. Store in original sealed containers at temperature between 60°F – 90°F. Limitations: • Waterstop-GunGrade must be fully confined on all sides to perform properly. When used in precast or joints, minimum concrete cover is 3” on all sides. Unconfined material may expand greater than 200% and develop an open celled structure, resulting in leaks. • Not suitable for surface caulking applications. • Not recommended for application at temperatures below 40ºF as material can have very long cure times (exceeding several days). Note: Proper application is the responsibility of the user. Field visits by AQUAFIN personnel are for the purpose of making technical recommendations and not for supervising or providing quality control on-site.

After contact with skin, wash with plenty of water. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes and seek medical advice. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. LIMITED WARRANTY: AQUAFIN, INC. warrants this product for a period of one year from the date of installation to be manufactured free of defects and to be consistent with its technical properties as stated in our current Technical Data Sheet. This product must be used as directed and within its stated shelf life. AQUAFIN INC. will replace or at our discretion refund the purchase price of any product, excluding cost of labor, which is proven to be defective. Our product recommendations are based on industry standards and testing procedures. It is the buyer’s obligation to test the suitability of the product for an intended use prior to using it. We assume no warranties written, expressed or implied as to any specific methods of application or use of the product. AQUAFIN INC.
